Could you let me how whether there is any

arrangement in Hongkong by which Government officers

receive from local Medical Officers attendance for

themselves, their staffs and their families for a

fixed annual sum?

Such an arrangement holds, I understand,

between the Consular and Ledical officers in China

and Japan, but there is no Diplomatic or Consular

staff at Hongkong.

It is desired to extend a privilege of this kind to the Commercial Diplomatic Service in China

and Japan, and it is suggested that the Commercial

Secretary at Hongkong might be included by the

Colonial Office in the existing arrangement if there

is one.

If there is an arrangement of this kind, I

should be glad to know your views on the suggested

Yours very truly,

inclusion of the Commercial Secretary.
